Welcome to the May WOW meeting!!
Thank you all for attending this meeting.
We are another month closer to 9.1. Although the patch is not going to hit for a few months, there is a ton of info out there if you do not mind spoiling yourself. The patch will bring some new content which may bring more people back during what are the spring and summer breaks that many take. With life opening up, we may see a little bit of a dip in attendance for raids and Mythics, but I am very impressed by the attendance in general lately. It's a great time to try an activity with a member who you may not typically group with as well. Building stronger bonds and getting to know your fellow Saints helps when there are differences of opinion. It helps you to be open to a different vantage point. This is very useful because what we see as fun is not always the same shared experience.
Guild Banner:
There are currently two entrants for the Guild Banner contest. As noted in the last meeting, the deadline is June 4, 2021. If the GP and HC like the banner submission, we will provide a monetary gold reward of 50,000 WOW gold. If the banner gets uploaded on the website it will be 150,000 WOW Gold. If you have any questions or need one of the banner jpgs to build off of please let Dzy or me know. Please send all designs directly to Dzy.

Raiding:
Last night was a breakthrough on Heroic Sire with a sub 15% attempt. Honestly, the kill feels very close, although, there is a bit more work to get those last few percentage points. Mechanics are key, even more than high DPS. It does not mean that high DPS does not help, but proper movement and coordination will make the fight much easier. It was just a month ago that Sludgefist went down prior to the guild meeting. That progression may not be as fast as some would like and could be too fast for others. Generally, I have tried to keep the raiding a bit more relaxed but that may not everyone's preference.
We saw some great discussion on Discord today regarding different views on raiding specifically on Heroic Sire. Some are getting a little burned out on attempting Heroic Sire with not getting a kill after spending many attempts on him. As was noted, previously in prior meetings, there are some competing demands within the raiding team. As SBC, I generally set the goal of AOTC because it gives us something to achieve as a team. This does not have to be everyone's goal, though. Some may be happy it happens, but it's not a requirement, others though want nothing less than AOTC and potentially some Mythic level kills. Up until several raid tiers ago, AOTC was not always in reach for STC. We did barely Jaina by really a week I would estimate. Others have joined STC after being a bit more progression oriented and while they do not want the stress of a super intense raiding schedule, they still would like to push content a bit more.
The BC's are looking at ways to meet the needs of the raiders and brainstorming ideas. We would like to roll something out prior to 9.1, but we want to make sure what is presented is clear first. We do greatly appreciate your patience as STC continues to support all our members both long-time and newer members.
So a couple of questions for the raiders:
Are you interested in getting AOTC? If so, do you care if it is with the Open raid or would a sort of pre-formed raid be ok?
By answering these questions, the BC's can help you achieve your goals in the manner that most approximates your needs.
