Here's a thread to share the stories that we've crafted around our characters.

Copied from the old website:

Sabreth:
The history of Sabreth is a long story that starts when he is eleven years of age and continues into his thirties, where in most games I put him in that is his rough age.

As is true for most stories about peoples characters the story starts out with great loss; a town near his families farm (yes, he is a farm boy) is attacked by bandits. His father, a renown archer, goes into town to help defend and is grievously wounded. He returns to the farm to warn the family, where the bandits follow him and start wreaking havoc on the farm.

Sabreth's mother and sister attempt to get away, but are ambushed and killed. Sabreth's father kills a majority of the bandits before succumbing to his wounds, allowing Sabreth to escape relatively unscathed.

He wanders about, bouncing from place to place for the next several years until taken in by a group of travelers. He spends several years with this group, and during his time there he comes across a herd of wild horses and captures the colt of the herd's leader. This colt grows to be Sabreth's life long companion. During his time with the group he is taught the use of a long bow and shows exceptional ability with it.

He finally leaves the group after a failed romance with a daughter of a prominent group leader. Upon his departure he is given a custom made longbow to match his 6'7" height.

Sabreth wandered aimlessly for several years, earning money by doing odd jobs or performing difficult shots with his bow for crowds in small towns. During this time he came upon someone holed up in a cave in the mountains being harassed by roughnecks and had been there for some time. Sabreth assisted the exhausted person and stayed with him until he was back to good health.

As a reward the person took Sabreth back to his home town, a few days travel away, and rewarded him with a custom sword to replace the rusted and bent one that he had been using, and put a control on it that would allow only Sabreth to wield the blade.

He spent a few days with this individual enjoying a rare time of peace in his life when he runs across one of the bandits that attacked his home all those years ago. Sabreth goes into a blood rage and furiously attacks the bandit. The battle is bloody, but Sabreth prevails. Before the final killing blow can be dealt the bandit pleads for his life by telling Sabreth that his sister, Sabrana is alive and wasn't killed that day and instead was taken into slavery by the bandit leader. Sabreth kills the man and searches the body for clues, which he finds a few.

He quickly recovers from his wounds from the fight and leaves immediately to go find his sister. For the next four years Sabreth leaves a trail of bloody destruction across the continent, destroying any bandit camp he finds and continues to follow clues leading to Sabrana. He finally finds the bandits headquarters where the leader and his sister are and attacks without preparation. This attempt nearly ends Sabreth's life, but is saved by some acquaintances he met years back that had been trying to catch up to him to help him out.

They fall back and regroup to formulate a plan of attack. They enlist the help of mercenaries from local and surrounding areas. The battle is long, bloody and horrible. Many people on both sides die, including several of the acquaintances that followed and caught up to Sabreth.

He finally catches up to the bandit leader to find a scrawny, sickly woman who claims she is the leader. Sabreth doesn't believe this and ties her up, interrogating her (none too gently) as to the whereabouts of Sabrana. The woman is stubborn and offers a slew of insults, but eventually reveals the location she is being held at within the compound.

Keeping the frail woman with him they proceed to Sabrana's location, the woman providing key details (all the while keeping the flow of insults gushing) as to what to do where. Eventually they find her, alive and visibly shaken but otherwise healthy and unharmed. Sabrana sees the woman and confirms for Sabreth that she is indeed the Leader. Sabrana takes the rope that Sabreth was using as a leash on the old woman and non-too ceremoniously ends the woman's life.

Sabreth and Sabrana together make it to the outer gate where the lands military is gathered. The two are taken to the interrogation tents to be questioned while the military finishes clearing out the compound.

Eventually the two are released. Over the next few weeks Sabreth learns that Sabrana has a natural affinity for healing. The military took credit for Sabreth's work in finally clearing the land of the prominent bandit group, but Sabreth doesn't care and lets the story take its own course; though Sabreth's actions are spreading through the towns as legend.

There are several years of relative peace for Sabreth and Sabrana as they wander place to place, never able to settle into one location. It is at this point in their lives that the two normally enter in any game, not quite affiliated with any one group but to themselves and tend to venture through that lands story and universe writing the next chapters of their lives....
