re: STC Raids NAXX-25 (1/19/2010) - by Gyzz

In this installment of the STC weekly raid, our merry band of adventurers set forth upon the not-so-friendly confines of Naxxaramas to pay Noth the Plaguebringer a visit. As the brave Saints descended into the Plague Quarter battling the undead monstrosities around every corner, it was clear something was not quite right. Sure, a floating ziggurat teeming with undeath is strange enough, but there was a certain vibe eminating from the very walls of the dread citadel that could not be explained.

The tension was palpable as the Saints stepped into Noth’s chamber. The Plaguebringer himself stood alone in the middle of the vile den lined with the corpses of unfortunate victims that would soon rise again to defend their new master. In true dwarven fashion, Stonehammer charged headlong into Noth knowing that the brunt of the STC force would be right behind him. Noth’s bevy of curses and foul miasmas were no match for the might of the Saints, but as he fell the battered Plaguebringer uttered several words in his final death rattle: “Kel’Thuzad, you go too far…”

What did this mean? Had Kel’Thuzad, the powerful Arch-Lich, finally found a way to re-pay the debt to The Lich King, Arthas? Jleek and the other raid leaders quickly came to a consensus that we would sneak into the chamber of Kel’Thuzad himself and avoid the other perils of Naxxaramas altogether. This was much to the delight of Fradrok, who apparently forgot his dancing shoes and had no interest in squaring off against Heigan the Unclean.

As the main raid force headed to Sapphiron’s lair to dispatch the undead frost wyrm, Qadariya was able to sneak down to the Death Knight wing and abducted one of Instructor Razuvious’ unwary pupils. Using some of her roguely persuasions, Qad had the poor fellow spill his guts (figuratively and literally) only to find that Kel’Thuzad’s had recently taken up a hobby even more nefarious than necromancy. It seems that ol’ KT finally convinced Arthas to get Direct TV for Naxx, and now was horribly addicted to the MTV reality show, Jersey Shore. In fact, KT had even gone so far as to begin calling himself the “The Lichuation” in honor of his favorite Jersey Shore character.

Now that the full depth of situation was understood, the Saints knew they had to take the former Kirin Tor mage turned necromancer down, and fast. Armies of the undead ravaging the lands pales in comparison the prospect of oiled-up Death Knights in muscle-t’s running rampant across Azeroth with their spray tans and barbed-wire bicep tatts.

After a failed Sapphiron attempt due to a poorly placed Ice Block (in the middle of a blizzard), the second attempt resulted in a very clean victory with a number of Saints receiving the “Less Than 100 Club” achievement for their low Frost Resist numbers.

As for Kel’Thuzad, we were able to catch him right in the middle of the episode where Ronnie gets into a fight on the boardwalk…wait that’s every episode. At any rate, he was no match for STC. So, the plans to move Naxxaramas to Belmar, Spring Lake or Atlantic City were thwarted.

All in all a very successful night.
