Guild Bank Items/Mats
There's some confusion/frustration about who has access to what items in the guild bank and how they're to be used. Gerhart clarified that the top two tabs are for raiding toon items or items to be given away by Officers. The pets are typically rewards for group activities like the fishing contest. The materials for enchanting can be requested for enchating raiding toons gear. All a Saint needs to do is ask about a specific item. Generally the Officer wil respond but if they are not certain, they will likely ask myself or another Senior Officer. Note that we want to be inclusive of what we hand out, just that we have had some people take too many items (even Officers) so we are careful of those higher level items.

If there are questions or suggestions for how to better deal with the guild bank items, please contact Gerhart.

Raiding Schedule
Current status:
Raids have been dropping off in attendance and we have only really been able to field one non-ToT raid a week. Part of that is a lack of alt healers, and others is because there are not enough people wanting to go at current raid times.

We are attempting to make progress in ToT, but with only 1 day a week going at these mobs, it's been hard to really progress.

Going forward:
We are moving to a 2 night a week ToT raid. Currently, we are planning on having these raids occur on Wed and Mon. nights. We hope that with this type of schedule, plus more consistency in our raids will allow us to progress to the next boss.

All that said, we are willing to change our raiding schedule around. If the Wed night ToT does not work out, we may shift the non-ToT to wed and shift the ToT wed night to Friday night. We may also switch the Friday night non-ToT raid to another night if our members who want to raid feel that another night will produce a more consistent and reliable schedule for those running that set of raids.

Our current needs for non-ToT raids are all roles. We have tanks, DPS, and healers, but not enough, and no real backups. If one person doesn't show up, we might very well end up cancelling the night.

Now, we come to the hardest part because of the difficulties the raid leadership team has been having in trying to organize raids with little or no commitment ahead of time, we are going to have to implement a drop dead date for raids. Those raids that are progression based will need to have a minimum of 9 people accepted 24 hours in advance of the raid start time. If we do not have enough players 24 hours in advance ready to commit to the raid, we will cancel it.

So for a Monday raid, the drop dead time is Sunday at 8 pm EPT. For Wed ToT raids, that will be Tuesday at 8 pm EPT. While we currently have the first boss on farm status, we are still working on Horridon. Because Jin'Rokh is only 1 boss and that's not enough to fill two hours, we must consider all raids in ToT to be progression based. Once we have the council on farm status, we may open up some of the early bosses for non-progression players. At that time, we will make a decision on if we will then only support ToT raids, or if we will continue to run one older raid per week.

For non-progression raids (such as HoF, MSV, etc), cutoff/drop dead time will be one hour before scheduled raid start time. Please have your invite accepted by that time. If there are less than 9 players accepted or confirmed after that time, the raid may/probably will be called.

Now, many of you are no doubt wondering if you are ready for progression, and what does progression ready mean.

I will be giving some of the key indicators below for basic numbers you need to have/put out, but there are other intangible things as well.

DPS
490 iLevel
390k+ health
80k+ sustained DPS

We would prefer 100k+ on single target bosses as some targets require 80k+ while switching targets.

The ability to think, move, and react appropriately. You must also be capable of providing feedback and ideas on how to better improve the strategy being worked on, and the ability to implement a stated strategy.

Tanks
495+ iLevel...pref 500+
625k+ health (buffed) pref 650k+

PROVEN tanking ability (this is done on current farmed boss mobs)
Ability to understand and implement the agreed upon tanking strategy
Ability to call out targets
Ability to adapt to issues as they present themselves in the fight (e.g. pick up adds, cover for dead tank while they get a Battle Rez, etc)
Leadership ability is a plus.
Tanks tend to set the pace in raids and are often the raid leaders or an assistant to the raid leader (BC) in charge.
Tanks must also have the ability to think, move, and react appropriately. You must also be capable of providing feedback and ideas on how to better improve the strategy being worked on, and the ability to implement a stated strategy.

Healers
490+ iLevel
380k+health

Proven healing ability, like tanks, this is done on current farm bosses.

The ability to think, move, and react appropriately. You must also be capable of providing feedback and ideas on how to better improve the strategy being worked on, and the ability to implement a stated strategy.

Intangible... If the raid leadership feels that a particular person has some skills that outweigh their DPS, healing, etc....such as great leadership, innovative thinking, a vast knowledge of WoW theory/strategies, etc, they may also be included in the progression team. This type of player is invited on a case by case basis after discussions between the senior raid leaders and the LP.

If you feel you meet these requirements but are not on the current progression invite list, feel free to approach Gerhart or Thal/Stone for evaluation.

Finally, unless you are underperforming, players that are there for the prior raid will have priority over others while we are working on a strat. This will provide us a more consistent raid group while working on a particular strat, and we will hopefully be able to progress faster than if we were to take people on a rotating basis. It just takes reps to learn a strat, and if you miss a week and come back to a different strat, you are behind the curve and bringing the team down. To avoid that, we will try to be more consistent. That said, the BCs and Raid Leaders (in particular the SBC and CBC) have the ability to disregard this and take someone else if they feel that particular person will have an impact that may result in the boss going down.

Example: Player A is consistently doing sub par DPS, (or sub par healing etc). Player B is available that week after a 3-4 week absence....prior to leaving, player B was performing at a much higher then minimum requirement level (say 120k DPS). In this example, the boss isn't going down because we keep hitting the enrage timer, or we don't get the adds down in time. In this type of situation, we may ask player A to sit for the week, even though they have a better grasp at the current strat. However, if player A was already doing the minimum DPS or better, then player A would retain that slot unless player B brought something else to the game (hero/time warp, etc when there was non-else available, BR when no others are available, was NOT a druid when all others in the raid were, etc) AND was still doing DPS well and above the requirement.

Again, there may be other times when people will need to sit to allow others to play, or to mix things up. Therefore, the raid leaders will have discretion on who they take. If you feel that you were not taken unfairly, please feel free to discuss it with the LP (Gerhart) AFTER the raid. He may agree, or not, but as LP and SBC, his word is final in game.

WARNING: do not complain to him during the raid unless he invites you to and he is not participating. Also, complaining about it in any other medium (including but not limited to vent, guild chat, trade chat, forums, etc) while the raid is going on and before you discuss it with Gerhart, may be considered unsaintly. Finally, if you complain to the raid leader during the raid about being left out, be aware that they will probably place you on ignore as they are too busy to listen while leading the raid.

If you have any questions, please feel free to direct them to Gerhart or Thal/Stone.

Asking for Assistance
I had a couple of comments made to me in regards to asking for assistance in guild chat. The people who commented to me were frustrated that the person asking for assistance seemed upset that their personal goal had not been met. While I encourage people to ask for assistance in guild chat, please do not place expectations or guilt trips on anyone if they cannot help. Everyone is entitled to play the game on their terms in regards to the Laws and Codes of STC. We have a varied group of people in STC who share common traits - playing a game and believing in the ideals of STC. Beyond that, though, we have different playstyles and times and abilities. Please respect if someone does not have the time to nor has the interest to join in on an activity. I encourage you to ask in guild but if people so no, please do not make them feel badly for enjoying the game the way they want to. It has nothing to do with you personally so please do not take it that way.

A note on old raids: many things actually get more complex with more people you bring. Several events have mechanics that simply do not exist if solo and I'd encourage everyone to try things solo a few times. You might be amazed what you learn about yourself and your characters when you continually push the envelope.
