By Dave Miller, aka Teraptus, a colorful character. I must write the story of Death Robe Dave.

Many years ago in the evil lands of Ravenloff, there was a tiny village called Small Wood. The village was occupied by some townsfolk and a group of warriors.

One of the warriors went by the name of Teraptus. He was good with a sword and had enough knowledge in the arcane arts to be useful. Teraptus was 3rd in command in this small band of heroes.

It was standard procedure for the heroes to always have at least one soldier in the village. So one day when trouble was heard of in the North, all but Teraptus went to help with whatever evil had spawned. The next day a villager approached Teraptus and told him that his cattle had been disappearing near the swamp to the south of the village.

Since the swamp was not far from the village border, Teraptus went to investigate. When he got to the center of the swamp, he noticed a old thin man cooking something in a large cauldron. Teraptus approached the old man and asked about the missing livestock. The old man looked up at Teraptus slowly, then jumped to his feet and yelled in a language Teraptus had never heard. Soon skeletons started rising from the murky water of the swamp. Teraptus quickly blasted them with dispel magic, taking them down with ease. Then he realized his mistake, the skeletons had been a distraction; the old man was working up another spell. Suddenly a blue light flashed and Teraptus was knocked to the ground. He stood up and charged at the old man with his sword, and killed him with one blow. But it was too late. Teraptus looked down and noticed that his body was slowly vanishing. After only a few moments Teraptus had completely vanished.

With a bright flash of light he appeared in a city that looked entirely of sandstone. He read a sign on the building in front of him. He was in the city of Trinsic. All of his armor was gone and his sword replaced with a very fragile and poorly crafted sword. He felt weak and his mind numb. He couldn’t remember any of the spells he had learned. He wandered around the town asking questions but the only replies he gathered were "I know not what thou are talking about". Slowly he began to figure out this strange place and gain small amounts of equipment.

One day a man actually spoke to him. His name was Lord Azurith, Leader of the Shadow Wolves. After some discussion he equipped Teraptus with some materials
necessary for survival and recruited him into the Shadow Wolves. Later Azurith made him a gate to Britain. Britain was a cold city filled with thieves and looters. But nevertheless Teraptus trained hard and once again became able to slay Orcs and cast smaller spells. Teraptus befriended a young man named Male and they spent many hours fighting the undead in the grave yard.

Soon the Shadow Wolves started falling apart, members were leaving. The Guild bought new houses and kept it going for a while, but then the Azurith left the guild, and it crumbled.

Seeking a new life Teraptus took to the woods till he reached a city named Yew. This city had many less thieves and better hunting. One day he found a map on the floor of the Empath abbey. It showed the way to the Shrine of Justice. Teraptus then headed to see the magical shrine. He found a small area above the shrine that seemed to constantly spawn monsters and had many kind people.

One day while taking his normal walk from the Abby to the Shrine a Orc Camp caught him off guard. He fell to the ground as he was greatly out numbered. He ran back to Yew and regained his life from a very powerful man in a healers building.

Teraptus then ran to the Abby to seek help getting the Orcs. Two men on horseback wearing Gold and Blue offered to help him. Teraptus led them to the Orcs. They were quickly defeated by the two men on horse back. Teraptus happy tohave his belongings returned thanked the men and went to the Abby to sleep. The next day he could not remember the names of the two men who had shown such kindness to him. All he remembered was a "STC" after their names. Later that day he ran into a Lord Achilles of STC. Teraptus approached and asked of STC and after a long discussion was recruited into the guild.

And The Rest Is History.
